This website is running on a Mammoth VPS with the Personal+ plan. It has been setup to:
To monitor availability, we use the third party website Pingdom.com. They have a page you can access (linked above) to see what our availability (uptime) has been on this website. I've also included an IFRAME'd copy to the right
This website is run on a completely standard VPS, ordered via the Signup page that all customers use. It does not have any preferential treatment or special functionality to enhance availability - we want this website to be completely representative of what all customers see.
We do offer IP failover of two or more VPS; however this site is just a single VPS to demonstrate worst-case availability. Check our IP Failover subsite to see how failover can improve availability.
Please note the "Average response time" is calculated based on the time to download this HTML page byPingdom.com's servers, which aren't based in Australia.
Mammoth VPS has an asynchronous connection with 20mbit incoming (from the internet to our facility) and 200mbit outgoing (from our facility to the internet)
To test the amount of bandwidth available from your location, please download the 100MB file linked above. Here is a sample download from my home ADSL in Canberra; it maxes out my 10mbits:

Mammoth VPS is hosted with Soul Communications datacentre in Sydney, Australia.
You can use this website to determine what the latency is like from your location to Mammoth VPS. If you are in eastern Australia with a broadband connection, you should see around 30ms. For example, here is a ping and traceroute from my home connection in Canberra.

There's plenty of information on our website about the service, but I would like to leave you with one parting thought.
Mammoth are not just another hosting company, we are developers and website operators just like you. We have been building and hosting our own popular website AusGamers.com for over 10 years now, so we truly understand what is required from a hosting service. We have complete trust in our VPS environment, hosting both AusGamers and the Mammoth VPS website within a couple of standard issue VPS (with the use of our free load balancing service).

If you would like to know more, why not have a chat with me on our Online Chat during business hours - just ask for Nathan.
